Our Client is a preferred choice for customers or businesses looking for services like Defence Logistics, Air Freight Forwarding, Ocean Freight, Humanitarian Aid etc. Their headquarters are based in the US with offices They are currently searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team.
The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, preparing month-end close procedures, and actively participating in external audits and relevant UAE tax filings.
- Oversee charter invoicing and accounts receivable management.
- Train new employees on basic invoicing and accounts receivable procedures.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, ensure budget adherence, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in audits and tax filings, including analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing timely information to external auditors and tax agents.
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, including accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped for their roles.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Perform other general accounting duties as needed.
- Assist senior management in preparing financial reports.
- Provide leadership by delegating tasks, addressing subordinate inquiries, and offering overall guidance.
- Relevant certification, such as CA or ACCA, is highly preferred.
- Degree in accounting or related field.
- At least three years of experience in a Big Four accounting firm or international company.
- Familiarity with financial software, such as Dynamics 365, is preferred.
- Strong, hands-on understanding and experience of IFRS is essential
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities to manage responsibilities effectively.
- Desired knowledge of general ledger and accounting principles.
- Skilled in resolving payment issues with external accounting staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of financial information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including expertise in VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
