The client
The client is a prominent real estate developer specialising in the creation of hospitality and mixed-use assets, combining residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead and manage structural design projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project objectives are met.
Design Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the structural design team.
- Oversee the preparation of design documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Review and approve structural designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure design solutions meet client expectations and project goals.
Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers and designers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Identify training and development needs for the team.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
- Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and sustainability.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve any on-site issues.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on structural design matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and stakeholders.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Promote and implement innovative design solutions and sustainable practices.
- Lead initiatives to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural design and engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) license required.
