The client

The client is a prominent real estate developer specialising in the creation of hospitality and mixed-use assets, combining residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage structural design projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
    • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
    • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project objectives are met.


  • Design Leadership:
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the structural design team.
    • Oversee the preparation of design documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
    • Review and approve structural designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
    • Conduct design reviews and ensure design solutions meet client expectations and project goals.


  • Team Management:
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers and designers.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
    • Identify training and development needs for the team.


  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
    • Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and sustainability.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify design implementation and resolve any on-site issues.


  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on structural design matters.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and stakeholders.


  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Promote and implement innovative design solutions and sustainable practices.
    • Lead initiatives to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies.

    • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in structural design and engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
    • Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) license required.
