Khoula Hospital was established in 1974. It was the first surgical hospital in the Sultanate. Since that time, many departments and different medical specialties have been added. The hospital was chosen to be a teaching center recognized by the British Royal Society of Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Correction. In 2008, the new organizational structure was adopted to make Khawla Hospital a general directorate, and the hospital employs more than 2,300 employees in various specialties.
